Dial Before You Dig plans and on-site service location every time. Hitting a main costs far more than the half hour it takes to find it.

To depth, to grade

Stormwater and sewer need fall, not just a hole. We cut to the grade the plumber needs so the line works the day it’s connected.

Backfilled properly

Correct bedding, correct backfill, compacted in layers. A trench that settles is a trench you pay for twice.

Locate and mark

DBYD plans pulled, the run marked out and existing services located on the ground before any digging starts.

Cut the trench

Trench cut to the width and depth the service needs, spoil stacked clear of the edge so the trades have room to work.

Bed and support

Sand bedding laid where the spec calls for it, and the trench battered or shored so it’s safe for anyone who has to get in it.

Trades in

We work around the plumber, sparky or comms crew and their schedule — including coming back the same day to close up.

Backfill and compact

Backfilled in layers and compacted, surface made good, and the excess carted off.

Questions

Do you locate services before digging?
Always. Dial Before You Dig plans are pulled for every job and the run is scanned on site. It is the cheapest insurance on the whole project.
Can you cut to a set grade for stormwater?
Yes. Give us the fall your plumber needs and the trench is cut to it. A stormwater line without grade doesn’t drain, so this is not somewhere to approximate.
What about trenches in rock?
We carry a hammer attachment. Rock trenching is slower and priced accordingly, but it gets done — you’ll know the moment we find it, before extra cost is incurred.
Do you backfill once the trades are finished?
Yes, and it’s worth having the same operator do both. We’ll schedule the return around your plumber or electrician so the trench isn’t open longer than it has to be.
Can you work in a finished yard?
That’s a big part of the work. Tight access machines, boards over lawns and paths, turf lifted and put back. The trench should be the only sign we were there.
